My Favourite Nursing + Pumping Tops
While I was pregnant with Cole I was so pumped (no pun intended!) about breastfeeding that I went out and bought a ton of casual and cozy nursing tops for the months ahead. Little did I know my breastfeeding journey would be short lived due to Cole not being able to latch properly despite every effort possible (you name it I did it, as I wanted desperately to nurse!). In the end I ended up exclusively pumping (basically pumping around the clock to feed breastmilk to your baby via a bottle). Having pumps attached to you 24/7 is a look for sure, so having some good tops that made it easy to attach and detach my pumps without too much fuss was essential. It turned out that all of my nursing tops were as perfect for the two months of actually nursing that I did as they were for pumping.
Here are my top picks for casual nursing + pumping tops:
Cadenshae Breastfeeding Hoodie: I love this sweater for both nursing and pumping — just throw it over your favourite nursing and/or pumping bra and you are set! If you are pumping, just unzip both sides of the sweater and have the pump bottles hang on the outside.
Latched Mama Petal Front Nursing Hoodie: This sweater has a layered front access, so if you are pumping you can pull down the top layer to cover the pumping flanges (however the bottles will still be visible). It’s also such a cozy sweater and I love that it’s on the longer side so it works great with leggings as well as jeans.
Nursing Queen Tops: So I think this brand is probably my favourite for nursing/pumping clothing. I own so many of their pieces and love them. They have so many cute styles that totally pass for everyday clothing even though they are meant for nursing. I have linked all of my favourites below.
Storq Nursing Tank: A nursing tank is such a staple in any mama’s closet and this one by Storq works like a charm. I love it layered under the Storq Maternity & Nursing Cardigan paired with some jeans for a put together look.
Free People Palo Santo Pullover: While not technically a nursing or pumping top, this pullover is VERY oversized and has a henley style button-up so it works perfect for either nursing or pumping. For pumping you can just put the pumps on underneath and then let the shirt drape overtop of them so you are completely covered. For nursing you can either hike the shirt up on one side or unbutton the top and pop your boob out. And once your breastfeeding or pumping journey has come to an end, this top is perfect for lounging around the house.
